One of the best parts of hosting international media is seeing Western Australia through someone else's eyes.
In December 2025, Malaysian writer and branded content specialist Dale John Wong joined a Tourism WA media famil exploring Perth and Western Australia's South West. His goal was simple – to encourage Malaysian travellers to venture beyond the city and discover the incredible experiences waiting just a few hours from Perth.
The result was a series of engaging articles published by SAYS, one of Malaysia's leading digital lifestyle platforms.
One article shared a six-day self-drive itinerary through Western Australia's South West, encouraging travellers to slow down and experience the forests, coastlines, wineries and regional communities that make this part of the state so memorable.
Another highlighted five nature experiences you have to try in Western Australia.
We were incredibly proud to see our Beach & Forest Eco Adventure included in that collection.
From the towering karri forests of Warren National Park to the vast Yeagarup Dunes and the rugged Southern Ocean, our tour showcases landscapes that many visitors don't expect to experience in a single morning. It was wonderful to see these unique environments shared with a Malaysian audience looking for authentic nature-based adventures.
Just as importantly, Dale's articles celebrated the South West as a complete destination. Alongside Pemberton Discovery Tours, readers were introduced to the region's food, wine, forests, coastline and welcoming country towns, encouraging travellers to stay longer and explore more of Western Australia.
International stories like these play an important role in inspiring future visitors to discover regional destinations. They also reinforce something we've always believed – that the best adventures begin when you leave the highway behind.
A sincere thank you to Tourism WA for creating opportunities through its international media familiarisation programme and to Dale John Wong and the SAYS team for sharing the beauty of Pemberton and the Southern Forests with readers across Malaysia. We'd also like to acknowledge the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) for supporting these visits through the waiver of national park entry fees. As a licensed commercial tour operator, we pay park entry fees throughout the year, so this support helps us contribute to media visits that showcase our parks and encourage future visitors to experience them responsibly.
If Dale's journey has inspired you, we'd love to welcome you to Pemberton and show you why our Beach & Forest Eco Adventure continues to surprise visitors from around the world.
