Join Peter Donecker for an Unforgettable Adventure

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Peter Donecker to offer a special guided Fungi Experience in the beautiful forests of Pemberton. This innovative idea allows us to share our property and our love for the environment with others.

Meet Your Guide: Peter Donecker

Peter Donecker is not just any guide; he is a former chemical engineer with over 40 years of fungi exploration experience. For the past 20 years, he has focused his expertise in the forests surrounding Pemberton. His deep knowledge and contagious enthusiasm for fungi make him the perfect leader for this unique tour.

Peter also runs the popular blog ‘Tall Trees and Mushrooms’ and serves as an administrator for the WA Fungi and Australian Wild Mushroom Hunters Facebook groups. His passion has garnered a loyal following, attracting everyone from amateur mycologists to nature lovers.

A Memorable Experience Awaits

The experience lasts three hours and begins in Pemberton, where participants will travel in convoy to the Jasper Tree Campground. During this guided forest walk, guests will explore the fascinating local fungi species. Weather permitting, there will also be an opportunity to visit a nearby pine plantation.

The tour concludes with afternoon tea among the majestic tall trees, creating a perfect backdrop for relaxation. For those eager to extend their time in nature, an optional campfire dinner and overnight camping add-on are available.

Connect with Nature in a Family-Friendly Setting

This tour offers a rare chance to connect with nature in an immersive and educational environment. It is designed to be family-friendly, making it an excellent option for all ages. The experience complements the existing Beach & Forest Eco Adventure, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in Pemberton’s unique ecosystem.

Fungi are integral to our forests, playing vital roles in the ecological balance. Thus, this tour seeks to promote awareness and understanding of these important organisms. Explorers will walk away with a greater appreciation for the forest and its inhabitants.
